Atmos Renewables and Yued sign Relationship Agreement

Atmos Renewables and Yued Aboriginal Corporation have reached agreement regarding the future relationship between the parties regarding the proposed Parron Maam Marang Farm near Badgingarra on Yued Boodja.

Negotiations towards an agreement commenced in February 2025 and the agreement includes:

  • Relationship Pillars that establish important principles such as acknowledging co-existence, Free, Prior Informed Consent and a commitment to cooperation

  • Provision for a proportion of Atmos Renewables’ Community Benefits Program to be allocated to Yued Aboriginal Corporation, along with other cultural and social funding commitments

  • Support for Yued employment and contracting

  • Ongoing engagement of Yued Aboriginal Corporation’s rangers for caring for country activities

  • The establishment of a relationship committee to ensure regular, transparent discussions regarding the construction and operation of the wind farm.

Total direct benefits for Yued Aboriginal Corporation over the life of the agreement is expected toexceed $4 million, with potential for in excess of $30 million in First Peoples’ contracting.

Yued Aboriginal Corporation’s role is to advocate for and pursue Yued Nyoongar interests in the conservation and development of Yued Boodja. As one of six Noongar Regional Corporations under the South West Native Title Settlement, it represents all Yued Traditional Owners with continuing connection to the 26,000 sq. km Yued Agreement Area.

The new relationship agreement is in addition to the existing Yued Heritage Protection Agreement signed between the parties in 2024.
