CEO recruitment
The Yued Aboriginal Corporation (YAC or the Corporation) Board of Directors is currently in the process of recruiting a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to enhance and progress the work of the Corporation. We ask that you bear with us until such time as the recruitment panel have finalised the process and appointed a suitable candidate.
The YAC CEO works in partnership with the Board and is responsible for high functioning day-to-day operations and effective management of the Corporation to grow the organisation and implement the Yued Indigenous Land Use Agreement for the Yued region.
The YAC CEO will ensure the strategic and operational goals of the Corporation are achieved, considering the cultural imperatives and the Corporation’s strategy.
As many of you are aware, Mr Laurence Riley was seconded in January 2024 from his role as Assistant Ombudsman, Aboriginal Engagement and Collaboration at Ombudsman Western Australia for a 12-month period to act in the capacity of interim Chief Executive Officer. His time with the Corporation has quickly approached its end, and we thank Mr Riley for his contribution and support of the Corporation as he transitions back to his permanent position through well-deserved annual leave which will see out the completion of his secondment contract.
In the interim, Lei Zhang will be acting Chief Executive Officer until such time as the position is filled. We will advise the YAC members of an outcome once the process has been completed.
If you have any concerns or require assistance during this time, please direct all inquiries to the Corporation via phone 08 9420 7253 or email kaya@yued.org.au.
The position is available for a three-to-five-year term, based in West Perth. We encourage Noongar and Aboriginal People to apply.
Applications close at 10am on Monday, 2 December 2024.

Sincerely,
Gail Beck | Chairperson
