Yued Expert Director

Yued Aboriginal Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of Hon. Darren West as an Expert Director, with a term commencing on 16 November.

Darren served as a member of the Legislative Council representing the Agricultural Region in the Parliament of Western Australia for twelve years from 2013 to 2025. 

His roles included Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Development; Agriculture and Food, State Development, Ports, Jobs and Trade, Hydrogen Industry, Racing and Gaming, Environment and Energy during the McGowan and Cook Governments.

Darren chose not to contest the 2025 election and has returned to the family farm at Jennacubbine.

Prior to entering parliament, Darren served as Chair of the Wheatbelt Development Commission and the Avon Community Development Foundation. He is very keen to work with Yued to explore opportunities in agriculture and renewable energy.

Darren has long-standing ties to Yued families and an abiding interest in working with Aboriginal Western Australians to use economic development as a tool to healthier and happier lives.
