Funding to develop a Yued Ranger Program

The State Government recently announced Yued Aboriginal Corporation as a successful applicant of the WA Aboriginal Ranger Program Round 8.

We will use the two-year funding of $1,576,293.58 to develop our Yued Ranger Program, with a focus on formal and informal training opportunities so we can manage our Country and participate in the Carbon Economy.

The funding will ensure capacity building through:

  • Certification through TAFE around Conservation and Ecosystem Management, Horticulture and Aquaculture;

  • Marine training for diving and vessel operation;

  • Drone operation, mapping and surveys; and

  • Traineeships for land restoration, including seed collection, propagation and weed and pest control.

We will be working with the community in the near future to kick off this project.

You can learn more about the Western Australia Aboriginal Ranger Program on the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions website.
