Call for Expressions of Interest: Yued Farm Steering Committee
Call for Expressions of Interest: Yued Farm Steering Committee
Members with experience in agricultural operations are invited to express your interest in being appointed as a member of the Yued Farm Steering Committee.
What is the Steering Committee for?
Yued Elders supported an application for a lease by Yued Aboriginal Corporation over the farmland and bushland at Mogumber Reserve (excluding the former Mission and cemetery sites) at a meeting in Moora in May 2025. The lease was signed in August 2026.
This support is on condition that Yued Aboriginal Corporation establishes a Steering Committee.
The farm is intended to be operated as a commercial operation, generating profit which can be invested in the property.
Initially, YAC will sublease the property to an experienced farming operation to generate rental income. It is intended to open an Expression of Interest process for this sublease in September.
The Steering Group will provide input into this Expression of Interest process and participate in the selection of the successful sublessee.
During the operation of the sublease, the Steering Group will work with Yued Aboriginal Corporation to develop a business plan for a diversified operation for the farm, and develop the capacity within the corporation to take over operations at the end of the sublease.
The role of the Steering Committee is advisory: it will not be responsible for decisions regarding governance or operational decisions of Yued Aboriginal Corporation for the strategic or day-to-day management of the property.
How many positions are there on the Steering Committee?
There are four (4) positions for members of Yued Aboriginal Corporation, one (1) expert member and one Yued Aboriginal Corporation director.
Do I need any special skills or experience?
Members who have demonstrated experience in farm management or operations will be given preference, followed by members who have strong knowledge of the property.
Will the positions be paid?
The Steering Committee will be a subcommittee of the board of Yued Aboriginal Corporation, paid sitting fees for attendance at meetings as well as travel allowances and disbursements.
How long will the term be for Steering Group members?
Steering Committee members will be appointed for a two year term with the opportunity for further terms.
How do I express interest?
